The appropriate response to conflict is communication
Where communication is lost through fear, the choice of increased isolation created
by war breeds further ignorance.
Leading by example, our responsibility is welcoming the value of each
human life, at all necessary cost.
We urge the people of Polk County to encourage government to pursue policy
with the aim of peace, harmony and genuine progress. We urge our
Senators and Congressman to pursue diplomatic and economic solutions to
the problems that must be answered by the coalition of nations:
* To appreciate the threat of terrorism as a symptom of social and
economic inequities
* To realize consensus provided through the forum of the United Nations
is essential for effective response to international conflict
* To actively pursue the de-escalation of the armament industry and
military industrial complex, recognizing the unnecessary burden of war
We urge the people of Polk County to encourage government to pursue
policy with the aim of sustainable economy
*We urge our Senators and Congressman to recognize the problems caused by the
irresponsible objectives of business operation with the primary goal of
monetary profit
*We implore the unbiased and internationally unified mobilization of response
to global warming
*We demand that Congress no longer selectively favor the interest of
corporations when there is question of negative impact on the environment
*we ask for continuing scientific review of all technology in the
agriculture, medicine, and energy sectors
*We urge the transition of incentive in these industries from profit
benefiting a few to the objective of human services
