Our resident cats, two virile males, lick, groom, and play
with each
other, cuddle up, and eat out of the same bowl at the same time.
Wouldn't it be nice if human males where so kind and close to each
other? It might solve a lot of problems if brothers cared as deeply
for each other as my cat friends do. I think animals get a bad rap,
like they have no spiritual life. I don't agree. My observations are
that they live a much more spiritual life than do most humans. They
certainly have less words, dogmas, rules, taboos, teachings, beliefs,
and laws to get in the way.
We have much to learn from the animals. The first thing is that we are
an animal too and that it's okay to be one. Don't blame your
misbehavior on your animal nature. Blame it on your lack of
spirituality. Raised with love, most beings tend to be gentle with
those who care for and pose no danger to them. Raised with hate, pain,
and fear, they become dangerous, sometimes to the handler, especially
when the handler loses control or the abused decides to seize it. At
least human animals have the brain power to learn to rise above the
damage (PTSD) done to them. Some of the non-human animals I've known
have, with love and kindness, been able to transcend as well.
Sensually speaking, in the Kama Sutra tradition of India, there a many
sexual acts where the lovers imagine being and proceed to imitate
various animals, not only for pleasure but to understand and
experience the consciousness of the animals they are emulating. Sounds
like a worthy way to make magical love to me …
